Description

Aromatic note:
Spicy

Cumin probably originated in the Mediterranean basin, more specifically the Nile Valley or Asia Minor. Its use in Egypt dates back more than five thousand years. For the Egyptians it was not just a spice for seasoning dishes; it was also used for medicinal and religious purposes.

According to ancient writings such as the Bible, cumin was used as currency to pay debts. In the Middle Ages, serfs used it as currency to buy their freedom. At that time, carrying a small bag of seeds was recommended as a charm against bad luck and witches.
It was also highly valued in Ancient Rome. The spice was associated with greed because it was consumed by the rich.
The essential oil is obtained from the seeds. Its intense aroma is true to the distinctive, unmistakable scent we know so well.

Translated review. This is an oil I use frequently on recommendation, and I have to say it is the first one I have really liked. It is like smelling the spice directly as soon as you open the bottle. I was surprised by the quality this shop offers, and especially the price. If I had not spoken to David, I would not have dared buy them. It has been my best discovery of 2020!
