Description
El alcanforero es un árbol de hoja perenne de la familia Lauraceae que puede alcanzar los treinta metros de altura, de sus hojas, tronco y raíces se extrae el aceite esencial.
Este aceite es potencialmente muy tóxico debido al alto porcentaje de alcanfor que contiene. La FDA lo desaprueba como uso medicinal, tan sólo puede usarse en productos para la piel y en sus dosis permitidas.
Es genial para descongestionar cuando tenemos alguna afección respiratoria, tan sólo impregnando un pañuelo con unas gotas lograremos resultados.
Se consigue controlar la grasa del cuero cabelludo usándolo en champús y otros productos capilares. Mejora afecciones de la piel tales como acné e inflamaciones y por último, ayuda a nuestro sistema circulatorio mediante su aplicación por masajes.
Precautions
Not for use by pregnant women or children. People with conditions such as epilepsy or Parkinson’s disease should not use it either.
Do not apply directly to the skin. Dilute in a carrier oil or follow the recommended usage rate for creams and other cosmetics. This rate should be 1% or 2% at most.

Botanical name: Cinnamomum camphora - Family: Lauraceae - Genus: Cinnamomum
A large evergreen tree with brittle branches, reaching 20 metres in height. Its leaves are alternate, stalked, oval, leathery and pointed, bright green in colour, with three main veins and small glands in their axils.
The yellowish-white flowers appear in May-June, grouped in corymbose panicles in the leaf axils. The fruit is a spherical, reddish berry that turns black when ripe.
