Description
Coco Betaine is an amphoteric surfactant for cosmetic use, particularly suitable for rinse-off cleansing formulations such as shower gels, shampoos, body cleansers and liquid soaps.
It is commonly used as a co-surfactant to improve the mildness of a formulation, support foam formation and reduce the harsh feel of systems based on anionic or non-ionic surfactants. It can also help adjust viscosity in suitable systems, especially when working with compatible salts and surfactant bases.
According to the technical data sheet, its approximate active matter content is 29% - 33%; it is highly soluble in water and has limited solubility in ethanol. The pH is measured in a 20% solution at 20 C.
