Description

Anise has been cultivated in Egypt for thousands of years. Benedictine monks introduced it to Europe in the VIII century.

Numerous European countries produce an alcoholic drink with anise. It is also used to flavour biscuits and cakes in different parts of the world.

Its distinctive aroma can be particularly appealing to some, while others strongly dislike it. There is no middle ground with anise. You either love it or dislike it completely.

The great scholar Pliny recommended it to aid sleep and keep the skin young. Today, crushed seeds are still used to make beauty masks.

Appearance: Clear liquid, yellow to dark yellow.

Solubility: Soluble in alcohol and oils. Insoluble in water

Translated review. An intense, very pleasant scent. I use it with eucalyptus, mint and rosemary for colds with lots of mucus, and it is a great expectorant.
