Description

Sil Timur essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the fruits of Lindera neesiana, a tree in the Lauraceae family that grows in the forests of the eastern and central Himalayas in Nepal. It is harvested from the Wild by hand.

This oil is characterised by its fresh, pleasant aroma, with citrus and spicy notes that make it valued in the perfumery and food industries. Its colour ranges from pale yellow to clear, and it has a fluid texture.

Historically, Sil Timur fruits have been used as a seasoning in Nepali cooking, adding an aromatic touch to curries, soups and meat or fish dishes. They retain their characteristic fragrance even after drying. In fragrance and personal care formulations, its olfactory profile makes it an interesting ingredient for perfumes and natural essences.

Its predominant Sulcatone content contributes to its fruity, citrus olfactory profile, providing those characteristic fresh notes. It is also used in the fragrance and flavouring industries for its ability to enhance fruity, fresh notes in perfumes and essences.

Appearance: Clear liquid, pale yellow to yellow.

Solubility: Soluble in oil, insoluble in water.

Precautions

Do not use this essential oil during pregnancy or on children under 12 years of age. Cinnamon essential oil is strongly dermocaustic and must never be used undiluted on the skin or mucous membranes. The maximum recommended concentration in preparations must not exceed 10 %.

Translated review. I like the scent because it is a blend of fresh citrus and wood. I think it will work very well with lemon and coriander for my soaps.
