Some products do not come along twice in a lifetime, and this Bourbon Vanilla from Madagascar is one of them.

Considered the most precious in the world, its cultivation is an act of devotion. Every flower must be pollinated by hand, one by one, within a brief window of just a few hours. If it is not done at exactly the right moment, the opportunity is lost. There is no room for error.

After pollination, a long journey begins: the pod needs between 8 and 9 months to mature before it can be harvested. Once picked, a meticulous curing process begins, lasting several more months. Only then do its warm, intense, sweet and slightly woody notes develop, making it unmistakable.

But patience and skilled hands are not the whole story. In recent years, Madagascar's producing regions have suffered devastating floods and a proliferation of insects that destroy the flowers. Added to this is widespread theft, forcing farmers to harvest early to avoid losses, compromising quality. Obtaining properly matured and cured pods has become a rarity.

The batch we present today is not only organic and directly sourced: it has been produced by a small community committed to the circular economy and absolute respect for vanilla's natural cycle. Production has been minimal, and every pod has been watched over like the treasure it is.

Its uses go far beyond the kitchen. Yes, it is unsurpassed in baking, infusions and ice cream. But it has also been valued for centuries in aromatherapy and personal care for its comforting, calming and almost hypnotic effect. There is something about true vanilla that connects directly with emotional memory.

This is not a product you will easily find again. And if it returns, it will not have this maturity or this aroma, although the respect for its process will remain.

The pods are fleshy and oily, with their aroma entirely intact. A real experience.

Presentation: each pod has its own weight, but they come in packs of 10u, 20u and 50u. Beyond that, they are supplied by weight, from 250g to 1Kg.

Directions for use

Split lengthways and scrape out the seeds inside, or macerate the pod in the desired medium (vegetable oil, food-grade ethanol, etc.)

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and sources of moisture. Close the container tightly after each use.

Precautions

Not for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women, or children under six years of age.

Do not apply directly to the skin. Dilute in a carrier oil or follow the recommended usage rate for creams and other cosmetics. This rate should be 1% or 2% at most.
