Creamy-foaming shower gel with SugaNate

Indicative formula with abundant foam and a creamy feel.

Save to favourites

Formula objective. A creamy-foaming shower gel in which SugaNate acts as the main surfactant and is combined with co-surfactants to adjust foam quality. The aim is not only to cleanse, but to achieve denser, more pleasant foam.

Why these ingredients were chosen.

  • SugaNate supports the main cleansing action with a mild profile.
  • The combination of secondary surfactants improves foam volume, creaminess and stability.
  • The humectant reduces the feeling of dryness associated with wash products.
  • The gel texture makes application and dispensing easier.
  • pH adjustment helps keep the formula within a suitable range for skin.

Intended users. Users who want a gentle body gel with more noticeable foam than minimalist formulas.

Skill level. Easy level: the key is to mix slowly, avoid excessive aeration and allow the product to rest to evaluate its foam and actual viscosity.

Validation required. Validate pH, foam, viscosity, stability, preservation and container compatibility.

Step by step

Prepare the equipment 1 Room temperature

Prepare the equipment

Clean and dry the beaker, spatula and container. Prepare a label with the name and date. In recipes with surfactants, it is best to work slowly to avoid creating unnecessary foam.

Make a lump-free base 2 Room temperature

Make a lump-free base

Mix the xanthan gum with the glycerine until thoroughly wetted. Then add the water in several portions. If you see lumps, wait 10-15 minutes and stir gently again.

Add the main surfactants 3 Room temperature

Add the main surfactants

Add SugaNate and Coco Betaine little by little. Stir slowly, close to the side of the beaker. If a lot of foam appears, stop for a few minutes and let it subside before continuing.

Complete the cleansing mixture 4 Room temperature

Complete the cleansing mixture

Add the Coco Glucoside and Decyl Glucoside. The mixture may become more opaque or change viscosity slightly; this is normal. The important thing is for it to be uniform.

Preservative and pH 5 Room temperature

Preservative and pH

Add the preservative and mix for 1 minute. Measure the pH and adjust gradually if necessary. If you do not have a meter, use pH strips with a suitable range and compare in good light.

Allow to rest, check and package Final Room temperature

Allow to rest, check and package

Leave to rest for 24 hours. Then check for separation, lumps or any unusual change in smell. If everything is correct, package it. If it is very foamy, wait longer before closing the final container.

Preservation, shelf life and validation

  • Work with slow stirring.
  • Validate pH, foam, viscosity and preservation.
  • Do not consider it a children's formula without specific validation.
