Comfort shower gel with SugaNate and Wheat Protein

Indicative gentle formula with hydrolysed wheat protein and a reduced feeling of tightness.

Save to favourites

Formula objective. A comfort shower gel with SugaNate and hydrolysed wheat protein. The formula aims for gentle cleansing with a more conditioning, sensory profile, keeping SugaNate as the main surfactant.

Why these ingredients were chosen.

  • SugaNate provides the main cleansing base.
  • Hydrolysed wheat protein improves the cosmetic feeling of softness and care.
  • Panthenol and glycerine support comfort during and after showering.
  • The co-surfactants fine-tune foam and rinsing without taking the main role.
  • The preservative protects the aqueous system against contamination.

Intended users. Normal or dry skin, or skin prone to feeling tight after showering, always in a rinse-off product.

Skill level. Easy level: no heating is required, but correct hydration of the gelling agent, careful mixing and pH control are necessary.

Validation required. Validate pH, tolerance, stability, preservation, foam and compatibility of the protein active ingredients.

Step by step

Prepare before mixing 1 Room temperature

Prepare before mixing

Disinfect the utensils, container and work surface. Weigh all the ingredients. If this is your first time, arrange the ingredients in recipe order so that you do not miss any.

Allow time for the gum to hydrate 2 Room temperature

Allow time for the gum to hydrate

Wet the xanthan gum with the glycerine and stir to form a paste. Add the water little by little. It is fine if it looks uneven at first: leave it to rest for a few minutes and keep mixing.

Add the panthenol and protein 3 Room temperature

Add the panthenol and protein

Once the aqueous base is uniform and free of visible lumps, add the panthenol. Add it slowly and mix until fully distributed.

Then add the hydrolysed wheat protein. This type of active ingredient is best incorporated with gentle stirring, without whisking, to avoid filling the base with foam before adding the surfactants.

If you see any denser areas or areas that look different, keep mixing a little longer before continuing. The phase should look homogeneous before moving on to the cleansing part.

Incorporate the cleansing component 4 Room temperature

Incorporate the cleansing component

Add the SugaNate, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Coco Glucoside and Decyl Glucoside one at a time. Mix without beating. If foam rises, wait before continuing.

Preserve and adjust the pH 5 Room temperature

Preserve and adjust the pH

Add the preservative and mix. Measure the pH. Adjust with diluted citric acid drop by drop if necessary. Record the final pH so you can repeat or correct the formula another day.

Simple stability check Final Room temperature

Simple stability check

Leave to rest for 24 hours. Before use, check three things: that there is no separation, that the smell is normal and that the texture is uniform. If anything changes considerably, do not use it without reviewing the formula.

Preservation, shelf life and validation

  • Indicative starting formula.
  • Do not use as a commercially validated formula without testing.
  • Adjust the pH at the end.
