Description
Tagetes minuta, commonly known as "huacatay" or "huacataya" in South America, is a herbaceous plant belonging to the Asteraceae family. This plant is native to South America and is found in various countries in the region, including Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Colombia. It is also grown in other parts of the world, in Africa, Europe and India.Our Tagetes essential oil comes from India, specifically Himachal Pradesh.
Both the leaves and flowers are used in South American cooking and traditional medicine because of their intense aroma and flavour.
The essential oil is used to make perfumes.
Appearance: Viscous liquid, colourless to pale yellow
