Description
Vetiver is a plant belonging to the same family as Palmarosa or Lemongrass. It is native to India and Indonesia, where it grows in tropical regions. Traditionally, the plant is used to prevent soil erosion and control water runoff in tropical areas.Therapeutically, it is traditionally used for relaxation and calming, and it is also used to repel insects.
Vetiver essential oil is one of the most important ingredients in perfumery. It is used as a fixative and is a prominent base note in men’s fragrances, adding a leathery, earthy note.
This essential oil comes from Haiti, where Vetiver is also known as Kush-kush. Haiti is one of the largest producers of this essential oil.
USES
Olfactory use
Vetiver essential oil is thick and unsuitable for a diffuser, except perhaps in combination with other essential oils and always in very small amounts. It combines well with lavender, lavandin, rosemary, juniper, cedar, pine and fir, patchouli...
Topical use
(Properly diluted with vegetable oil).
Vetiver essential oil is perfect for including in an aftershave:
Moisturising aftershave emulsion:
3 drops vetiver essential oil
5 drops lavender essential oil
4 drops lemongrass essential oil
3 drops patchouli essential oil
3 drops Himalayan cedar essential oil
20 ml jojoba oil
30 ml aloe vera gel
Apply after shaving. This emulsion can also be used as a daily moisturiser.
Applications in olfactology (psycho-emotional wellbeing)
Vetiver essential oil is recommended for deep calming and soothing. It is particularly indicated for hyperactivity.
For children from 5 years, a massage can be applied to the soles of the feet by diluting 1 drop of essential oil with 20 drops of vegetable oil.
For adults, prepare a roll-on of 5 ml with 5 drops of vetiver and top up with jojoba. Apply to the wrists and behind the ears.

Solubility: Soluble in alcohol and oil. Insoluble in water
Precautions
Do not use during pregnancy. Avoid prolonged use if you have hormone-dependent cancer.

I really like its smell

I have tried the latest recent batch (OAEVV0424, which, by the way, has not been updated on the website), and there are significant changes in the aroma. Even so, it is still up to the standard of the oils you sell. That underlying scent of earth, moss, forest... that stays on the skin is something I cannot find even in well-known pharmacy brands.
The dispensing cap could be improved; a dropper would be preferable, because the current one is not at all practical.

Personally, I find the scent very intense, but recognise its effectiveness for people with insomnia or hyperactive children. It induces relaxation and calm.

Clearly a high quality product, very powerful and thick. The problem is the dispenser does not let it out. The first time I wanted to use it, I had to improvise awkwardly, and my perfume ended up with too much of this essence
