Description

Palmarosa is a herbaceous plant belonging to the same family as citronella or lemongrass. The plant has been distilled for more than two centuries, and its essential oil has been used to adulterate rose essential oil. Indeed, palmarosa essential oil consists mainly of geraniol and also contains geranyl acetate, two molecules found in rose essential oil.

It is a highly valued plant in Ayurvedic medicine. It is used to relieve joint pain, lumbago, neuralgia or sciatica. Its use is also recommended to prevent hair loss.
