Description
Angelica is a beautiful, large aromatic plant belonging to the Apiaceae family. It is native to northern Europe and parts of Asia and has been cultivated in various regions of the world for culinary and medicinal purposes. It can reach up to 3 metres in height.
Angelica tastes both bitter and sweet and has long been used to flavour dishes and drinks. Its tenderest stems and young leaves are candied and eaten as sweets. It is included in traditional desserts and, in some countries, is an important ingredient in herbal liqueurs.
Angelica is highly valued for its medicinal qualities. It is often recommended for relieving digestive disorders, particularly when related to stress.
It owes its botanical name, "Angelica archangelica", to the archangel Raphael. According to ancient beliefs, the plant was a gift from the archangel Raphael during the plague in the Middle Ages. Angelica is also known as the herb of the "Holy Spirit".
The essential oil is generally extracted from the roots, although sometimes also from the seeds or the whole plant. It is known for its digestive properties and anti-stress action. It is also attributed anti-inflammatory, expectorant and antimicrobial properties.

I have tried others, but none like this. I always carry it. It calms, gives peace, grounds me and comforts my heart. I love this oil. In zoopharmacognosy, choosing it opens the way to deep healing: connecting the heart of earth and sky.
