Description
Spearmint is a mint probably native to the Mediterranean basin. It is grown in numerous countries and consumed more in some than in others. Classic Moroccan mint tea is made with this pleasant mint. It is commonly included in the famous tabbouleh (a couscous-based salad typical of North African countries) or served alongside Vietnamese nems (spring rolls) with lettuce.It is also used in cocktails, specifically to make mojitos.
Its aroma is very pleasant and comforting. Many people associate it with the smell of chlorophyll mint chewing gum.
Appearance: Clear liquid, pale yellow to slightly greenish.
Solubility: Soluble in alcohol and oil, insoluble in water
