Description
Our Peppermint Eucalyptus essential oil comes from fresh leaves harvested wild in Australia, in an area where eucalyptus dives grows naturally.
It is distilled in small batches, preserving all the aromatic richness and complexity of its unique biochemical profile.
Unlike other better-known eucalyptus oils, such as globulus or radiata, Eucalyptus dives stands out for its high piperitone content, a ketone that gives it a fresh, penetrating aroma with minty and slightly camphoraceous nuances, very different from the usual 1,8-cineole.
This oil is valued for its specific respiratory profile and its usefulness in formulas for invigorating massages, muscle care and winter blends.
In aromatherapy, it is used cautiously because of the ketones present, avoiding prolonged use or use on young children.
Highlights of this essential oil
- Minty aroma, widely used in winter synergies.
- Traditionally valued for its freshness and balsamic feel.
- Rich in piperitone, ideal in blends for massage and body care.
Note: This essential oil is particularly rare in authentic quality, as many versions available on the market are standardised (rectified) or diluted. What we offer here is a pure, unaltered version, just as it is obtained directly from distillation.
Notes from the Aromatherapy Expert
Peppermint eucalyptus essential oil has very specific properties that perfectly complement other eucalyptus oils such as radiata or globulus. Its distinctive biochemical composition, centred on the predominant presence of a ketone, piperitone, gives this essential oil its unique character.
Appearance: Clear liquid, pale yellow to reddish orange
Solubility: Soluble in alcohol and oil. Insoluble in water
Precautions
The warning not to use during pregnancy or in children under 6 years of age is appropriate. Due to its ketone content, prolonged use should be avoided and a professional consulted before application.
