Washing-up liquid with Sodium Olefin Sulfonate
Formula for cleaning by hand in which Sodium Olefin Sulfonate is the main surfactant.
An indicative hand dishwashing liquid for evaluating the foaming and cleaning power of Sodium Olefin Sulfonate in a simple household formula.
The main ingredient is Sodium Olefin Sulfonate. The recipe is designed around it as the core of the cleansing system, rather than a token addition. The other ingredients help adjust texture, foam, comfort in use and preservation.
Why it is designed this way:
- Sodium Olefin Sulfonate is used at 25%, well above the supporting glucoside.
- Coco Glucoside rounds out the foam and helps keep the formula from relying on a single surfactant.
- Viscosity is kept moderate for easy dispensing.
- It is not intended as a disinfectant and must not be mixed with bleach, ammonia or other cleaners.
Easy level: requires precise weighing, slow mixing to avoid filling the formula with air, and a final pH check. This is an indicative suggestion; before continued use or marketing, stability, preservation, pH, viscosity, container compatibility, foam and tolerance must be validated.

Step by step
Preservation, shelf life and validation
- Indicative formula for cleaning surfaces or dishes, not for cosmetic use. Do not mix with bleach, ammonia, strong acids or other cleaners.
- Wear gloves if you have sensitive skin. Thoroughly rinse surfaces that come into contact with food and test on a small area first.
