Description

There are many kinds of sage, of which common sage is probably the most famous for its recognised therapeutic properties.

Common sage has traditionally been used to treat conditions specific to women, for example infertility, menstrual disorders and the symptoms of menopause.

In aromatherapy, we also use two other sages: clary sage (Salvia sclarea), also known as amaro, and Spanish sage (Salvia lavandufolia).

Common sage essential oil is potentially toxic (neurotoxic and abortifacient), which is why we do not give suggestions for use and recommend consulting a professional before using it.
