Description
Lavandin is a hybrid plant that appears where lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and spike lavender (Lavandula spica) hybridise naturally. Lavandin is propagated by cuttings because it is sterile. It is understandably easy to confuse lavandin with lavender or spike lavender. However, careful observation reveals distinguishing features that help us identify them.
To begin with, lavender is a high-altitude plant, so if you find a plant that you think could be lavender but you are near the sea, it is not Lavandula angustifolia. It is most likely lavandin, especially if it is an ornamental plant. Lavandin is a large plant: the stem bearing the flower spikes branches at a point into three stems. Spike lavender also often shows this characteristic. Lavender, by contrast, has only one flower spike per stem. In lavandin, the flower spike is longer and the colour of the flowers more intense and uniform, although this depends considerably on where it is cultivated.
The aroma of super lavandin is closer to lavender than to spike lavender, although it is more “rustic”, less fine and gentle.
Three main varieties of lavandin are cultivated: Grosso, Abrial and super.
Super lavandin essential oil is preferred for therapeutic purposes. The Abrial variety also has therapeutic interest, with uses similar to those of spike lavender essential oil.
Lavandin essential oil is often used as a more economical alternative to lavender essential oil. It is suitable for naturally scenting clothes in wardrobes, adding to the laundry and scenting soaps.
The most notable properties of super lavandin essential oil are its anxiolytic, sedative, soothing and pain-relieving properties.

It arrived in perfect condition.
A slightly "sharper" (camphoraceous) scent than lavender, but very pleasant. I use it a lot for massages.
