Description

Lavandula lanata is an endemic plant that grows in the southern Iberian Peninsula at altitudes between 800 and 1900 metres.
Its common name, white lavender, refers to the woolly, velvety appearance of its whitish-grey leaves.

There is little information about the traditional uses of this plant. It has been used to scent wardrobes and repel moths. Therapeutic references mention digestive and circulatory benefits.

Its essential oil consists mainly of camphor and lavandulol, with smaller amounts of eucalyptol. The high camphor content means this essential oil must be used cautiously, especially for pregnant women and children under 6 years of age.

Appearance: Clear liquid, colourless to light yellow

Solubility: Soluble in alcohol and oil. Insoluble in water
