Description
Our Organic Turpentine Essential Oil is steam-distilled from the resin of Maritime Pine, Pinus Pinaster, from protected areas in Portugal. Its high Alpha- and Beta-Pinene content makes it ideal for many therapeutic applications. Since ancient times, turpentine essential oil has been used for joint pain, muscle pain and toothache.
It is sometimes recommended for inhalation to reduce the chest congestion associated with certain lung conditions.
It is also widely used as a flavouring in the food industry, in both solid and liquid products.
Turpentine Essential Oil should not be confused with Maritime Pine Essential Oil: the former is obtained by steam-distilling the resin, while the latter is distilled from the pine needles (leaves). We consider Maritime Pine resin to provide the best turpentine for our cosmetic and aromatherapy uses.
Finally, this resin is one of the oldest materials used in the chemical industry as a natural solvent in all kinds of manufacturing. Depending on its refining process, its applications cover countless uses. Remember that synthetic turpentine used as a chemical solvent is not the same as natural turpentine.
Appearance: Clear liquid, yellow to slightly amber
Solubility: Soluble in alcohol and oil, insoluble in water.
Precautions
Not for use by pregnant women or children.
Do not apply directly to the skin. Dilute in a carrier oil or follow the recommended usage rate for creams and other cosmetics. This rate should be 1% or 2% at most.

Gracias
