Description
Saro, also called Mandravasarotra, is a shrub in the Canellaceae family. Its botanical name is Cinnamosma fragrans, and it is endemic to Madagascar, where it usually grows in dry forests in the north-west of the island. It is generally found near shaded rocky areas where water is present. It flowers between September and November, and fruits develop between December and May.On this island, where medicinal plants remain the main way of treating many common ailments, saro is considered a medicinal tree. In Malagasy, Mandravasotra means “that which drives away evil”.
Its leaves are mainly used, but also its roots. They are prepared as infusions or decoctions, or used fresh for various purposes: to prevent physical exhaustion, for difficult childbirth, as an antidote to poisoning, for dysentery, coughs and asthma, and to treat abscesses and sores.
Its essential oil has only been extracted for a relatively short time and has built a reputation as a powerful protector against infections, creating, as it were, a shield against attack!
This batch is special because it is a different chemotype from the one we usually offer. We have obtained a limonene chemotype and wanted to introduce it to you because we find it distinctive and interesting to explore.
The aroma of saro CT limonene essential oil is particularly fragrant, with floral, spicy and citrus notes and a fresh touch.
It relaxes and brings peace and quiet joy.
Appearance: Clear liquid, colourless to pale yellow.
Solubility: Soluble in Alcohol and Oil.
