Ginger is a plant native to Southwest Asia. It has been cultivated in India for more than 3000 years. It is one of the most widely used remedies in Ayurvedic medicine.
It first reached Egypt, then Persia and from there Greece. In Europe, it was used mainly for cooking, and in Italy it was generally eaten candied.
Today, it is cultivated in many parts of the world: Asia, the Antilles, Hawaii, Africa, Madagascar, Oceania…
Fresh ginger essential oil is of particular interest for digestion: it relieves all types of nausea, aids digestion and combats constipation. Its use is also recommended to improve metabolism and relieve joint or muscle pain.
USES
Olfactory use
Ginger essential oil relieves any type of nausea.
Place one or two drops on a tissue and smell it until relief is felt.
Topical use
(Properly diluted with vegetable oil).
Always use it properly diluted with a carrier oil.
Fresh ginger essential oil can form part of a blend to relieve joint or muscle pain:
30 drops fresh ginger essential oil
30 drops copaiba or katrafay essential oil
30 drops camphor rosemary essential oil
30 drops lavender essential oil
15 drops laurel essential oil
25.5 ml arnica vegetable oil
Apply 5 to 6 drops to the affected area. If the pain is intense, apply every 30 minutes 4 times, then as needed.
Applications in olfactology (psycho-emotional wellbeing)
Fresh ginger essential oil can help us feel more cheerful and motivated. We can use it whenever we need a boost to get started or overcome procrastination.
For these situations, prepare a roll-on (5 ml):
10 drops ginger essential oil
5 drops Nepal pepper essential oil
5 drops Kunzea essential oil
Top up with jojoba oil.
Apply to the wrists, neck and behind the ears as a perfume.

Solubility: Insoluble in water
Precautions
May be used by inhalation during pregnancy to relieve nausea. Do not use on children under 6 years of age.
