Description
A translucent yellow liquid with a somewhat pungent, penetrating odour.
Soluble in water at 20º and sparingly soluble in ethanol.
Side Effects
Overexposure may cause severe irritation of the skin, eyes, throat and gastrointestinal tract.
Precautions
- Reacts violently with concentrated sodium nitrite or nitrate solutions.
- Reacts with strong oxidising agents and acids.
- Prevent this liquid from entering drainage systems.
- Use a mask, gloves and goggles when handling.
- Avoid inhalation and prolonged contact.
- Store in tightly closed containers in well-ventilated areas.
