Description
SLSA - Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate
Solid anionic surfactant suitable for bath, shower, solid shampoo, effervescent product and rinse-off cleanser formulas where abundant foam and a feeling of effective cleansing are desired.
It is important not to confuse SLSA with SLS or SLES. Although their names are similar, they are different ingredients. When formulating, always assess the surfactant system as a whole, the final pH, the total active matter dosage and the tolerability of the finished formula.

Use in formulation
It can be used as a foaming surfactant in solid or semi-solid rinse-off products. In liquid formulas, it is advisable to disperse it beforehand and work with gentle stirring, avoiding dust and excessive foam during manufacture. The dosage must be adjusted to the product type, total active matter and desired tolerability.
Precautions
- Avoid inhaling dust during weighing and mixing.
- Handle the concentrated product with goggles and gloves; the SDS classifies it as posing a risk of serious eye damage.
- Avoid contact with strong acids, strong bases and oxidising materials.
- Final formulas must be tested and validated before use or sale.
