Description
The exact origin of the tree whose fruit we call bergamot is unknown. Some sources say Christopher Columbus brought the tree from the Canary Islands; others say it originated in Italy. The Turks disagree, however, and claim that the name comes from the Turkish beg-armadê, meaning the lord's pear. In any case, we do know that it is mainly grown in Italy, particularly in Calabria.
Bergamot is not an edible fruit because of its very sour taste. Its peel, however, is used to prepare drinks, desserts, infusions and teas (the famous Earl Grey tea). Its essence is concentrated in the peel and is extracted by cold pressing the pericarp.
This essence is particularly prized in perfumery and is one of the most common ingredients in colognes and light summer fragrances.
Therapeutically, bergamot essence has certain similarities to lavender essential oil and petitgrain essential oil (bitter orange leaf).
Its relaxing, anxiolytic and antidepressant properties stand out.
It also offers antimicrobial and antiseptic properties.
Its citrus aroma is very appealing and attracts a wide audience. It captivates us and takes us on a journey through different “aromatic landscapes”; smelling it never becomes boring. It is refreshing, sparkling, cheerful and playful. It could be the friend we all dream of. It comforts us and helps us forget our worries and sorrows. It might even make us laugh.
Precautions
Do not use undiluted on the skin; it may cause irritation.
It is phototoxic, so do not use this essence topically before exposure to the sun.
Dilute in a carrier oil or follow the recommended dosage for creams and other cosmetics.

Me encanta éste aceite esencial. Lo utilizo en muchas cremas y en productos para el pelo. En éste champú sólido matizante para cabellos grasos me encanta el olor que dá , además de las propiedades que aporta. Muy buena calidad como todo lo que compro en ésta web.
