Description

Nagarmotha, Nagarmota or Musta is extracted from the roots of Cyperus scariosus, a herbaceous plant in the Cyperaceae family. Its tubers, which are very rich in active substances and natural antioxidants such as phenolic compounds (tannins, flavonoids, polyphenols), alkaloids, terpenoids, etc., are dried in the open air and ground into powder. They are used both in aromatherapy (for their spicy, woody scent) and to relieve menstrual pain or improve digestion.

It can be applied to both skin and hair as a mask, water macerate or oil macerate. It is particularly valued for purifying and soothing the scalp (controlling dandruff), stimulating hair growth, preventing premature greying and regulating oil production, leaving hair soft and fine.
It is particularly important in skincare, especially for delicate skin and oily, acne-prone skin, thanks to its purifying, soothing and repairing effects. It therefore prevents the appearance of signs of ageing caused by oxidative stress. It also stimulates skin pigmentation and reduces depigmented areas by promoting melanin synthesis.
