Description

Manjistha powder (also called Manjisti, Manjith or madder root) is obtained from the roots of the climbing plant Rubia cordifolia. Its name literally means "bright red", and it contains an organic compound (alizarin) traditionally used as a colourant for dyeing clothes and in paint.

Manjishta has anti-inflammatory properties useful for relieving inflamed skin. It is beneficial for treating inflammatory skin conditions such as acne and dermatitis. It regulates sebum and also has antibacterial properties.

The plant is rich in antioxidant compounds that help neutralise free radicals, contributing to healthier, younger-looking skin.
It is useful for hyperpigmentation and for reducing the appearance of pigmentation.

It has also traditionally been used for its ability to promote wound healing.
This plant helps maintain proper skin hydration.
