Organic Scots Pine hydrolate helps combat the microorganisms responsible for fungal infections on feet and nails.

Hydrolates are the water obtained from essential oil distillation. They consist of 99% water, and the remaining 1% contains a small proportion of the components of the essential oil that was distilled.

Hydrolates are often confused with waters, mainly because in other countries they are called Floral Waters. Waters contain preservatives and may be natural and/or synthetic, whereas a Hydrolate contains no preservatives of any kind. It is more expensive and, because it contains no preservative, a Hydrolate has a much shorter shelf life (lasting between 6 months and a year) than a Water.

Microfiltered: what does it mean?

The greatest enemy of hydrolates is fermentation that can occur through contamination.
With traditional distillation methods, small fragments of plant material will always find their way in, so it is important to filter the hydrolate as soon as possible. A membrane device can filter out microscopic bacteria, fungi, yeasts, plant residues... leaving a completely clean hydrolate.
