Description

Catnip is a herbaceous plant in the Lamiaceae family. It is native to Europe and Asia, but has also become naturalised in other parts of the world, including North America.

This plant is famous for its effect on many cats. Nepetalactone, a chemical compound present in the plant's leaves and stems, acts on cats' olfactory receptors and triggers an excited, playful response in most of them.

Translated review. I read that catnip and litsea oils are better than DEET (a chemical that must be used with care) for mosquito repellent, so I am trying them with other oils. I also add soy oil, which seems to give longer protection.
