Description

Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate is an excellent vitamin C derivative for oil-based cosmetic formulations, thanks to its stability, high penetration and antioxidant and depigmenting efficacy. Its use in natural and advanced cosmetics makes it ideal for facial serums, oils and creams with an anti-ageing and brightening focus.
It is a stable vitamin C (ascorbic acid) derivative in fat-soluble form. It is obtained by esterifying ascorbic acid with isopalmitate fatty acids, improving its stability and solubility in oils and allowing better penetration into the skin. It is used in luxury cosmetic products.
It comes in liquid or semi-solid form, pale yellow in colour, and is highly stable against oxidation compared with pure ascorbic acid.
Solubility: Soluble in oils and lipids, insoluble in water.
Application phase: Incorporated into the oil phase of emulsions or directly into facial oils, serums and anhydrous products.
Recommended pH range: Works well across a broad pH range (4-6).
