Description
Borax decahydrate is disodium tetraborate with ten molecules of water of crystallisation. It is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in water.
Restriction on cosmetic use
Borax decahydrate is listed in entry 1396 of Annex II to Regulation (EC) 1223/2009, concerning substances prohibited in cosmetic products in the European Union. It must not be used to make creams, bath salts, soaps for use on the body or preparations to apply to the skin.
Previous cosmetic dosage instructions do not apply. For any permitted technical use, follow the product’s safety data sheet and the relevant handling conditions.
Precautions
Do not use in cosmetic products. Avoid inhaling the dust and contact with skin and eyes. Handle using the protective equipment specified in the safety data sheet. Do not ingest. Keep out of reach of children.
