Description

Zinc ricinoleate is mainly used in personal care products and cosmetics, especially deodorants and antiperspirants. It acts as a deodorising agent that traps and neutralises unpleasant odours naturally and effectively, without blocking pores.

It can be incorporated into emulsions, gels and anhydrous systems. The recommended use level ranges from 1% to 3%, depending on the specific formulation and the desired level of odour control.

Directions for use

Add zinc ricinoleate to the oil phase and heat to approximately 80°C to ensure even dispersion.

Recommendations for use

Avoid using it in formulations with an extremely acidic or alkaline pH, as its effectiveness may be reduced. It must not be mixed with strong oxidising agents, as these can break down zinc ricinoleate. It may be incompatible with some cationic surfactants and emulsifiers.
