Description
Myristyl Myristate (Myristyl myristate) is an ester derived from vegetable oils that uses only myristic fatty acids.
It forms a non-greasy solid wax made up of the ester of myristyl alcohol and myristic acid.
Myristyl alcohol is a saturated fatty alcohol
- An excellent cosmetic emollient in lotions, creams or hair products.
- Forms a protective film when applied to the skin.
- An effective humectant, reducing moisture loss from skin and hair.
- Can be used as a texturising agent, providing a soft feel on the skin.
- Reduces the watery feel of lotions and creams.
- Increases emulsion stability.
Myristyl Myristate is suitable for use across a wide range of pH values and is also compatible with cationic, anionic and non-ionic surfactants. It is used in products such as soaps, creams, lotions, hair conditioners and shaving creams.
Use level: 2.0 – 8.0%.
It must be incorporated into the oil phase.
