Description
Myristyl Lactate is an emollient derived from fatty acids and myristyl alcohol, of 100% natural origin. It is effective both in products that require rinsing (rinse-off) and those that do not (leave-on), making it versatile for various cosmetic formulations. It is widely used in the industry to improve the feeling of hydration and softness on the skin and to condition the hair, making it feel softer and more manageable.
Myristyl Lactate offers significant conditioning and softening benefits, ideal for products intended to treat very dry skin. It also improves the texture of cosmetic products by acting as a thickener, which is crucial for achieving the desired consistency in creams, lotions and other cosmetic formulations
Myristyl Lactate combines well with various surfactants and other thickeners to create high-quality cosmetic products. It is compatible with ingredients such as Coco-Betaine, allowing surfactant bases with a high percentage of naturally derived ingredients to be formulated. It is also used with other emollients to improve pigment dispersion in decorative cosmetics.
Its origin is 100% Plant-based, as only L(+) lactic acid is used in its manufacture. The lactic acid is prepared by fermenting carbohydrates from cultivated cereals (wheat) or sugar beet, always grown in Europe.
The myristyl alcohol is obtained by hydrogenating methyl esters of palm kernel oil from Elaeis Guineensis (Malaysia and Indonesia) and is RSPO /MB certified. The whole product is manufactured in Europe.
The Lactic Acid is created through a natural process using non-pathogenic, non-genetically modified bacterial strains. The bacterium is neither mutant nor modified, either actively (electroporation) or by any other technique.
