Description
Jasmine is a shrub in the Oleaceae family that can grow to six or seven metres tall. It is a climbing plant with white flowers that grow in small clusters and have an intense fragrance. Absolute essential oil is obtained from these delicate flowers. It is extracted using a costly method called “Effleurage”; the flowers are picked at night, when they are most fragrant, and release their essential oil over several days. Around 3,5 million flowers are needed to obtain just half a kilo of essential oil. Because of its fragrance, it is considered a sacred flower in India, where women can often be seen adorning their hair with it.Precautions
Not for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women, or children under six years of age. As a precaution, people with sensitive skin should not use it in massages or hot baths.
Do not apply directly to the skin. Dilute in a carrier oil or follow the recommended usage rate for creams and other cosmetics. This rate should be 1% or 2% at most.
