Description
Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide found naturally in the body, where it forms part of many tissues and organs, including the joints, cartilage and skin.
Our hyaluronic acid is of 100% plant origin, obtained by fermenting wheat peptone without using genetically modified raw materials (Non GMO). It is suitable for vegans.
Hyaluronic acid (ha) is a linear-chain macromolecular mucopolysaccharide composed of repeating disaccharide units of glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine.
It is a white or almost white, highly hygroscopic powder or fibrous aggregate. Fairly soluble in water and practically insoluble in acetone and anhydrous ethanol.Properties and Uses of High Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid can retain water equivalent to thousands of times its weight. It is therefore used to hydrate the epidermis, as it rebuilds the fibres that support skin tissues.
As an excellent moisturiser and lubricant, it noticeably improves the skin's characteristics, providing softness, tone and elasticity.
High molecular weight hyaluronic acid penetrates less deeply into the skin, but its ability to moisturise and smooth wrinkles is wonderful.
It also promotes collagen production, multiplying the rejuvenating effect.
Its regenerating and wound-healing effects also make it useful for reducing scars caused by severe acne and other skin conditions.
It can also reduce redness, pain and inflammation.
It can be added to almost any cosmetic product: creams, lotions, essences, foams, shampoos, masks, serums...
Dilute the powder first in alcohol or water, then add it to the aqueous phase. Do not heat above 70°C.
Recommended Dosage
0´01-3% for topical use.
Side Effects
At the recommended doses, it is neither a skin irritant nor a skin sensitiser.
Precautions
- Do not heat to decomposition, as this may produce toxic fumes.
