Description
Tara gum can be found as a food additive or purified for use in cosmetics. The tara gum offered by Mi Cosmética Casera is Ecocert certified, 100% plant-derived and vegan, of superior quality and specifically intended for natural cosmetics.
It is a hydrocolloid obtained by grinding the endosperm of Caesalpinia spinosa seeds (a member of the legume family). It consists of high-molecular-weight polysaccharides, mainly galactomannans.
What does tara gum offer compared with others such as xanthan?
Tara gum forms a transparent gel, but above all it leaves no greasy feel and does not clump, instead giving the skin a very pleasant silky feel.
It does not need a high % to gel and dissolves in cold water
