Colloidal Oatmeal USP - Ecocert

Description

Colloidal Oatmeal is a natural organic powder with cleansing, protective, moisturising and anti-itch properties.
It contains a variety of active ingredients, including beta-glucans (responsible for water-retention functions), phenols, starch, saponins, flavonoids and vitamin E.

It comes as a fine, slightly golden powder and is soluble in water.
Our USP Colloidal Oatmeal has a very fine particle size and is neither coarse nor abrasive, soothing stressed, blemished and irritated skin.
It also helps relieve itching in dry skin.

Colloidal oatmeal can be added to bath water, is suitable for babies and is a home remedy for dry or itchy skin.
The oatmeal does not sink because of the colloidal action of the grain particles dispersed throughout the water.

What it is used for:

In lotions, it creates a natural barrier on the skin to protect it from external aggressors, making it recommended for formulating creams for very dry skin. It can also be added to solid shampoo to relieve an itchy scalp.
It can also be used in face masks.

Its use varies with each formula, with recommended levels ranging from 1% (creams) to 50% (baths or masks).

Our Colloidal Oatmeal is approved by Ecocert and is USP/ pHEur grade.

Distinctive features of our Colloidal Oatmeal

Water and Oil Absorption: through a patented extrusion system, our Colloidal Oatmeal has a greater water absorption capacity (at least 88% more) than standard colloidal oatmeal, helping create more stable emulsions. This is possible thanks to changes in the structure of the free amylose / amylopectin ratio and the overall particle size, which facilitates oil absorption by the starch particles.
It also absorbs 30% more oil.

Dermatological testing

Our USP Colloidal Oatmeal has undergone "In-vivo" studies on people to assess its suitability, with the following results:

• Reduces redness and irritation, soothing and relieving these skin conditions.
• Anti-ageing and repairing properties demonstrated on all skin types.
• Reduces transepidermal water loss and effectively forms a physical barrier on the skin's surface.

Feedback from study participants
