Eucalyptus trees are native to Australia, particularly Tasmania.There are many species, around 600, and the vast majority produce valuable and varied essences.
In the past, eucalyptus trees were planted extensively to dry out marshy areas where insects transmitting diseases such as malaria proliferated. They are found in virtually every part of the world.
In Australia, eucalyptus leaves have traditionally been used to repel insects, reduce fever or treat wounds.
This essential oil comes from an unusual, distinctive eucalyptus. Eucalyptus cneorifolia is endemic to Kangaroo Island and is a relatively small tree. This Australian island once had more than a hundred distilleries dedicated to extracting the cineole present in the leaves.
Its aroma is distinctive too. Although 1,8-Cineol clearly stands out, there are notes reminiscent of polybractea eucalyptus or even niaouli, with a slightly floral touch at the end of the olfactory experience. It is truly distinctive and different.
Like many eucalyptus essential oils rich in eucalyptol, this one is specifically suited to the respiratory system.
Its aroma is intense and refreshing. It clears and decongests the respiratory system.
