Description
Savory is found in scrubland and very arid areas. It grows on calcareous soils and can be found in high mountain areas.
It is used to season meat dishes and is one of the ingredients in the famous herbes de Provence.
It is also known for its powerful effect on male sexual energy. Indeed, its botanical name refers to the satyrs of Greek mythology, beings known for their sexual vigour. Because of this same aphrodisiac power, growing it in monastery gardens was once forbidden.<
