Description

San Juan cedar, also known as Portuguese cypress or Mexican cypress, belongs to the Cupressaceae family. It is native to Central America, including Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. It has been introduced and cultivated in various other parts of the world for its ornamental and commercial value.

San Juan cedar essential oil is extracted from the tree's branches. Its aroma is intense and distinctive, and particularly refreshing. It is used in perfumery to add fresh woody and citrus notes.
