Description
Khella is a very common plant in North Africa and is also found in Spain and southern France. In ancient Egypt, it was used to treat asthma, kidney stones and psoriasis. In Spain, it has been used for oral hygiene, and in Morocco it remains part of the traditional pharmacopoeia.
The plant closely resembles a carrot plant and can reach up to 1,20 metres in height.
The essential oil is extracted from the seeds. Its aroma is somewhat unusual and difficult to describe. It contains esters found only in this plant, as well as coumarins that give it its very specific properties.
Appearance: Clear liquid, pale yellow to yellow.
Solubility: Soluble in alcohol and oil, insoluble in water
