Cedarwood essential oil
Cedars are large trees growing 25 to 50 metres tall, with slightly pointed leaves (short, evergreen needles of 2 to 4 cm) gathered in clusters on short twigs. There are several species, and the essential oil can be extracted from the bluish-green leaves (needles) and twigs, or from the berries (fruit), using steam distillation.
Properties
The essential oil is used to combat hair loss and other problems such as dandruff. It is also known for its beneficial properties for oily skin and for making acne marks or scars disappear. Used in vapour inhalations, it helps with respiratory problems such as sinusitis, colds, bronchitis or flu.
