Description
Hydrolats are the water resulting from essential oil distillation. Their composition is 99% water, and the remaining 1% contains a small proportion of the components of the essential oil that was distilled.
Hydrolats are often confused with waters, mainly because in other countries they are called Floral Waters. Waters contain preservatives and can be natural and/or synthetic, whereas a Hydrolat contains no type of preservative. Its price is higher and, because it contains no preservative, a Hydrolat has a much shorter shelf life (between 6 months and one year) than a Water.
