Description

An old German legend tells the story of two lovers walking along the banks of the Danube. The young woman sees a flower floating in the water and asks her beloved to bring it to her.
The young man leaps into the water and picks up the flower, but, tragically, his heavy armour drags him under and he drowns.
Before dying, he throws the flower to his beloved, crying: “Vergiß mich nicht” (Forget me not).
