Description
The term 'retinoid' refers to synthetic and natural derivatives of vitamin A and its analogues.
These molecules can bind to and activate the appropriate retinoic acid receptors (RAR) to induce the transcription of relevant genes, either directly or following metabolic changes.
Retinoids are generally classified into 4 different groups, known as generations.
Types of Retinoids
First-generation retinoids (also known as non-aromatic retinoids) include retinol, tretinoin and isotretinoin.
Second-generation retinoids are represented mainly by acitretin, which is used to treat psoriasis.
Third-generation retinoids are known as polyaromatic, the most notable being the popular over-the-counter acne ingredient adapalene. The first fourth-generation retinoid (trifarotene) was approved by the FDA in 2020 for acne.
Natural topical retinoids include retinol (Vitamin A) and its derivatives. Although retinol can be found naturally in animal and plant sources, most retinol in commercial products is produced synthetically in a laboratory.
New-generation synthetic retinoids (including adapalene, tazarotene and trifarotene) can therefore act on cellular processes in the same way as their natural counterparts.
Patented Retinoid Complex
The Enhanced Retinoid Complex offered by Mi Cosmética Casera represents a new generation of bioretinoids, encapsulated in our manufacturer's patented solution. It combines liposomes with a marine biopolymer coating for optimum dermal penetration and excellent stability.
How It Is Obtained
This Enhanced Retinoid Complex is obtained from a wild-origin strain of Chlorella Vulgaris and contains pure marine apocarotenoids derived from Xanthophyll, which act as structural analogues of Retinoic Acid.
As natural retinoids, these molecules bind to and activate a specific retinoic acid receptor, resulting in improved skin remodelling without side effects.
Comparison with Bakuchiol and Other Retinoids
This active ingredient has been thoroughly tested in vivo, demonstrating that it outperforms Retinol at 0,3% and Bakuchiol at 1% in direct clinical studies.
These studies also show how our Enhanced Retinoid Complex compares with current market leaders, focusing on rejuvenating the skin for a firmer, more balanced complexion.
How to Use
From 0,5% to 1%. It is soluble in Water.
It is neither irritating to the skin nor photosensitising.
Suitable for vegans.

Muy buen producto. Muy adecuado para mi piel madura. No me ha hecho reacción y tengo la piel sensible. Después de un par o tres semanas de uso, se nota el buen resultado.
Cons (original): El precio, no he encontrado ningún otro contra. Pero merece la pena.
