Description

Silver fir is a large tree that can reach 50 metres in height. It is commonly found in central and northern Europe. It also grows in Spain, specifically in the Pyrenees, where it thrives from an altitude of 700 metres.

The resin of this tree is commonly used to produce turpentine. Its wood is also used for various purposes, particularly paper production.

It is a relatively long-lived tree and can live for up to 500 years under optimum conditions.

In geology, silver fir essential oil is used to raise the vibrational threshold of homes.
