Description
Aromatic note:Woody, resinous, balsamic, warm, soft
Cedar is a large, imposing tree with an attractive shape. It grows in various regions and is often found in European cities as an ornamental tree. Atlas cedar is native to Morocco, where it grows wild in the Atlas Mountains.
Himalayan cedar, as its name suggests, grows in the high mountains of northern India.
It is a very long-lived tree that has fascinated people for thousands of years.
Cedar wood is used in construction and furniture making. In the past, it was also used to build ships.
Cedar resin was also used for therapeutic purposes and was credited with various properties, particularly antiparasitic properties. It was recommended for respiratory conditions, and Cleopatra is said to have used cedar to prevent hair loss.
Its wood is fine, highly resistant and reputed to be rot-proof.
The Bible mentions the cedar of Lebanon on several occasions; it is believed to have been used to build Solomon's temple.
The Egyptians, preoccupied with longevity and eternal life, used the wood to make sarcophagi and the resin for embalming.
In Celtic tradition, cedar symbolises confidence, abundance, fertility and spiritual strength.
It has been credited with the power to make those anointed with it incorruptible. Origen of Alexandria said: “Cedar does not rot; making the beams of our houses from cedar preserves the soul from corruption.”
Alphonse de Lamartine wrote in 1833 that cedar is a divine being in the form of a tree.
As we can see, cedar is a powerful tree that has left its mark throughout human history.
Atlas cedarwood and Himalayan cedarwood essential oils have similar biochemical profiles and can be used interchangeably. However, we prefer Himalayan cedarwood essential oil because Atlas cedar is listed as an endangered plant.
Both have a similar aroma: soft and woody, pleasant and comforting.
Appearance: Viscous liquid, yellowish to brownish yellow
Solubility: 1ml per 4ml of Alcohol

Essential oils should not be used on children, pregnant women or during breastfeeding. Consult a specialist.

Huele a madera y también algo afrutado, genial para la piel

Olor potente pero agradable. Lo uso para masaje de piernas y la verdad que, en combinación con otros aceites, ayuda a sentir las piernas más ligeras y afina un poco la celulitis.
